ACC arrests Shiwang’andu health planner over alleged K50,000 conflict of interest

·September 7, 2026

The Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested and charged a planner at Shiwang’andu District Health Office over an alleged conflict of interest involving K50,000.

The ACC says Nicodemus Kalasani, 46, failed to disclose an indirect financial interest in Sahmilz Investments Limited between November 2023 and June 2024.

According to the Commission, the company was involved in the supply of tools and equipment for Community-Based Volunteers at Shiwang’andu District Health Office.

The ACC alleges that the owner of Sahmilz Investments Limited was a friend of Kalasani and that the company transferred money into his bank account following each successful contract.

Kalasani has been charged with one count of conflict of interest under the Public Procurement Act No. 8 of 2020.

He has since been released on bond and is expected to appear in court.
