Apple Overtakes Nvidia to Reclaim World's Most Valuable Company

Apple has overtaken Nvidia to become the world's most valuable company, ending the chipmaker's reign at the top as investors reassess the future of artificial intelligence (AI).

The technology giant is now valued at approximately $4.88 trillion, narrowly surpassing Nvidia's $4.86 trillion after Nvidia's shares declined while Apple's remained steady.

The milestone marks Apple's return to the top spot for the first time since April 2025. Nvidia had held the title since June 2025, driven by soaring demand for its AI chips.

The change reflects a shift in investor sentiment as attention expands beyond companies that manufacture AI hardware to those expected to generate long-term revenue from AI-powered products and services.

Apple has recently stepped up its AI ambitions, unveiling major improvements to its Siri voice assistant and continuing to integrate artificial intelligence across its devices and software ecosystem.

Analysts say Apple's large base of iPhone users and its ability to combine hardware, software and services position the company well to benefit as AI becomes a bigger part of everyday technology.

Despite losing the top spot, Nvidia remains one of the biggest beneficiaries of the global AI boom, with its processors continuing to power many of the world's leading artificial intelligence systems.

Industry experts believe the battle for the title of the world's most valuable company is likely to continue as competition intensifies in the rapidly evolving AI sector.
