LUSAKA — Money sent home by Zambians abroad crossed US$1 billion for the first time in 2025, according to Bank of Zambia data published on Friday.
The figure overtakes annual donor inflows for the first time and underscores the growing economic weight of the Zambian diaspora — concentrated in the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States and the Gulf.
