The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has engaged international election observers as preparations for the August 13 general elections enter the final stage. The engagement was held today at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka as the Commission continues to update stakeholders on its preparedness for the polls.

The meeting forms part of ECZ’s stakeholder engagements aimed at ensuring that key players in the electoral process are adequately informed ahead of voting day. International observers are expected to monitor the electoral process and provide independent assessments of the conduct of the elections.

The 2026 general elections will be held on Thursday, August 13, with voters expected to elect the President, Members of Parliament, Mayors and Council Chairpersons, as well as Councillors. The ECZ has continued to call on all stakeholders to uphold peace and adhere to electoral laws and procedures.
