The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has published a final 2026 voter register of 7,418,629 names — the largest in the country's history and almost 11% bigger than the 2021 roll.

Chairperson Mwangala Zaloumis told reporters that more than 720,000 of the new voters are registering for the first time, with the steepest growth recorded in Lusaka, the Copperbelt and Southern provinces.

"We are now in a position to begin printing the final voters' rolls for distribution to political parties," she said, adding that nominations for presidential candidates will open in March.
