Football Association of Zambia President Keith Mweemba has called on clubs to ensure that players, coaches and officials are given adequate time to participate in Thursday’s general elections. He said preparations for the new football season and the transitional league should not prevent members of the football family from exercising their civic duty.
Mr. Mweemba urged clubs to plan training sessions and other football activities around election day to avoid conflicts. He noted that while football remains important, football responsibilities should not obstruct citizens from taking part in the democratic process.
The FAZ President further appealed to the football community to conduct themselves peacefully, respectfully and democratically during the elections before returning to football-related activities.
