Lusaka launches US$50m fund for early-stage tech startups
The fund will write cheques of up to US$250,000 for fintech and agritech founders, with the first cohort to be announced in January.

LUSAKA — A new US$50 million fund for early-stage Zambian tech startups was launched in the capital on Thursday, backed by the African Development Bank, the Zambian government and the Lusaka-based innovation hub BongoHive.
The vehicle will write cheques of US$25,000 to US$250,000 for pre-seed and seed-stage companies in fintech, agritech and climate tech.
BongoHive CEO Lukonga Lindunda said the first cohort of ten founders will be announced in January 2026.
