CHIPATA — Zambia's 2025/26 maize harvest is on track for a five-year high of 3.6 million tonnes, the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) announced this week.
Acting executive director Charity Mumba credited the rebound to early rains, the rollout of fertiliser e-vouchers and the expansion of conservation farming in Eastern and Southern Provinces.
The FRA is reopening 211 depots in five provinces to absorb the surplus.
