
Police in Northern Province have launched investigations into an attempted murder after a 44-year-old man was shot by unknown assailants in Nsama District on Saturday night.
The victim, David Chansa of Chilima Village, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to both legs after he was attacked at around 20:00 hours while walking to his pit latrine.
According to Northern Division Commanding Officer Simunji Mulonda, Mr. Chansa was rushed to Chishela Rural Health Centre before being referred to Mporokoso District Hospital for specialised treatment.
Police suspect the attackers used a shotgun and have since opened a docket for attempted murder.
The suspects remain at large, and investigations are ongoing.
Mr. Mulonda has appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to report to the nearest police station.
