Ministry Reports Progress in 2026/27 FISP Implementation

The Ministry of Agriculture says 270,523 farmers have so far received redemption codes under the 2026/2027 Farmer Input Support Programme, out of a targeted 1,024,434, with just 51,052 of those farmers having actually redeemed their inputs at accredited agro-dealers.

In a statement issued 2 August, the Ministry described the figures as significant progress under the E-Voucher system, and urged farmers who have already received their codes to visit accredited agro-dealers and redeem their inputs in good time to prepare for the coming farming season. With weather challenges anticipated during the 2026/2027 season, the Ministry encouraged farmers to consult their local Agricultural Extension Officers for technical advice on selecting, timing and using inputs, and recommended farming practices, and urged agro-dealers to ensure adequate stocks of approved inputs are available given those expected conditions.

The Ministry asked farmers to pay close attention to official weather and agricultural advisories shared through its communication channels, and issued a specific security warning, redemption codes should be kept safe and never shared with anyone, and farmers should personally participate in the redemption process, ensuring every transaction involving their FISP allocation is authorised by them directly.

Accredited agro-dealers were directed to allow eligible farmers to redeem their allocated inputs in line with approved FISP guidelines without unnecessary delay, with the Ministry stating plainly that no agro-dealer should deny or prevent an eligible farmer from accessing their inputs. The Ministry said it will continue monitoring FISP implementation and will take appropriate action against any agro-dealer found obstructing farmers or otherwise undermining the integrity of the programme.
