The Electoral Commission Of Zambia Response To False Allegations That The Commission Has
Completed Printing Of Ballot Papers In Tanzania

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has strongly rejected the false and malicious claims circulating on social (The Candidate's Facebook page ), alleging that the Commission has secretly printed extra ballot papers in Tanzania.

The allegations further claim that the ballot papers will be smuggled into Zambia through the Nakonde border with the assistance of the Zambia Army and distributed in Eastern, Luapula, Northern, and Muchinga provinces to favour President Hakainde Hichilema.

The Commission says Stakeholders may recall that this is not the first time the candidates' Facebook. The page has circulated false claims regarding the printing of ballot papers. The Commission has therefore urged those responsible for spreading the baseless allegations to desist from misleading the public, political stakeholders, and unsuspecting citizens with false and inflammatory information.

The Commission has stated that the facts surrounding the ongoing printing of ballot papers are as follows:
Contrary to the false narrative that ballot papers are being printed in
Tanzania, the Commission wishes to state that printing of categorically
ballot papers are exclusively taken from Al Gurair Printing and
Publishing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and this is being
witnessed by various stakeholders, who include the political party
representatives and the media.

The Commission has also reminded the stakeholders that the Commission will transport the printed Ballot papers through a chartered Plane from Dubai to Kenneth International Airport, and all stakeholders will be invited to witness the arrival of the ballot papers.

This is according to a statement obtained by Muvi Television, issued by Commission Chief Electoral Officer Brown Kasaro.
