The Zambia Police Service has charged two people with criminal trespass after they were found inside a Chalala resident's bedroom, one of them asleep on her bed, the other reportedly undressing, police said.
Lubwa Police Station received the report from Patricia Mulenga, a resident of Chalala, Lusaka, on Wednesday, 19 August, at around 11:00 hours. According to police, Mulenga had gone to take a shower, and upon returning to her bedroom found two individuals, later identified as Nsanda Phiri and Natasha Chanda, inside the room. The male suspect was allegedly asleep on the bed, while the female suspect was reportedly attempting to undress. Both appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, and seemed surprised when the complainant questioned their presence in the house.
Police were called to the scene, and the two suspects were apprehended and taken to Lubwa Police Station. They have since been charged with criminal trespass and released on police bond, pending a court appearance.
The Zambia Police Service reminded members of the public to respect the property, privacy and lawful rights of others, and advised against unlawfully entering or remaining on premises without the consent or lawful authority of the occupant.
