ZAF and NAPSA Sign K150 Million Water Project For A25,000 Lusaka Residents

The Zambia Air Force and the National Pension Scheme Authority have signed a K150 million contract for the construction of a 12-kilometre pipeline under a Bulk Water Supply Project. The project is expected to benefit more than 25,000 residents of Twin Palm and Ibex Hill areas in Lusaka, including Queensland Park, ZAF Twin Palm and Da Tong.

Under the agreement, ZAF and NAPSA will provide funding for the project while the Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company will undertake construction and operations over an 18-month period. The scope includes the pipeline, a booster station, a ground reservoir and supporting management infrastructure to improve water delivery to the growing communities.

Government officials described the project as part of broader efforts to expand access to essential services such as water, housing and sanitation. They noted that reliable water supply supports public health, household productivity and community development, and that collaboration between government institutions is key to accelerating infrastructure delivery.
