The Board of Directors of ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc has reviewed progress on key operations and development projects at CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines, where it holds a 20 percent equity interest.
The visit, held on Tuesday, 22nd September 2026 in Luanshya, formed part of the Board’s Copperbelt investment tour led by Board Chairperson Mr. Phesto Musonda. The Board engaged management led by Chairman Mr. Jiang Lei on FY2025 and H1 2026 operational and financial performance.
During site inspections, the Board toured Shaft 28 where dewatering has been completed and underground clearing and construction works are underway, as well as the Mashiba Ramp construction, Muliashi Open Pit backfilling, vent shafts and winders.
Mr. Musonda emphasized that increased investment and production in the mining sector must translate into tangible economic opportunities for Zambians, stating that growth must have a real trickle-down effect through local businesses, skills, jobs and community development.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kakenenwa Muyangwa said the Board had seen tangible progress on projects such as Shaft 28 that are important for long-term production, noting that local content is central to making operations more resilient and competitive.
