ZPS Arrest Seven Suspects as Chaminuka Resort Murder Investigation Continues

The Zambia Police Service has confirmed that seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Chaminuka Resort Chief Executive Officer, Stelios Sardinis, and an aggravated robbery at the resort.

Sardinis, aged 64, was murdered on August 9, 2026, between 01:00 and 01:15 hours at Chaminuka Lodge in Chisamba District.

Police say four suspects were apprehended earlier, while three others were arrested on August 11 in Lusaka.

All seven suspects, who are residents of Lusaka, are currently in police custody.

Police say investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the murder and aggravated robbery, as well as the individual roles of each suspect.

The Police Service has also cautioned members of the public against attributing political motives to the case without verified information, urging the public to allow the investigation to proceed professionally.

Police have further appealed to members of the public to avoid spreading rumours and unverified information, particularly on social media, saying this could affect the investigation and cause further emotional distress to the deceased's family.

Police say further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
