"I Was Their Boss; They Cannot Claim the Experience to Run Zambia" – Greyford Monde

Former Minister of Livestock Greyford Monde has questioned the leadership credentials of Tonse Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate, arguing that neither has the experience required to govern Zambia.

Speaking at a UPND campaign rally in Southern Province, Mr. Monde said leadership should be judged by both a person's record in public office and their performance in private life.

He argued that the two opposition leaders only served as provincial ministers, positions he described as junior to that of a Cabinet minister.

"I was their boss. I was a full Cabinet minister. Provincial ministers cannot claim the experience to run a country," Mr. Monde said.

He further claimed that neither had demonstrated achievements in public office that would justify seeking the country's highest office.

Mr. Monde also criticised the private sector record of one of the opposition leaders, referring to a road project undertaken by a company he associated with the opposition candidate. He alleged that the project was poorly executed and questioned how someone who had failed in private business could successfully lead the country.

The former minister further claimed that the opposition alliance lacked broad national representation, alleging that its senior leadership was concentrated within one regional bloc.

He contrasted this with President Hakainde Hichilema's administration, saying it reflects greater national inclusion.

Mr. Monde concluded by urging Zambians to support President Hichilema's re-election, saying the country needed experienced leadership with a proven record in public service.
