The Government has handed over farming equipment worth K999,252.01 to communities in Senanga District under the Food Security Pack (FSP) Programme. The equipment, procured using recoveries from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 FSP Programme, is the first investment of its kind in the district and will benefit 12 Community Welfare Assistance Committees (CWACs).

The consignment includes diesel hammer mills, solar pump sets, two-wheel walking tractors with ploughs and rotavators, and tool carriers aimed at improving agricultural productivity and household incomes.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Permanent Secretary Beatrice Chilomo said the investment demonstrates that prudent management of public resources and responsible participation by beneficiaries can deliver sustainable development. She expressed confidence that the equipment would enable communities to increase food production, improve food security and generate income throughout the year.

Ms. Chilomo also commended beneficiaries who fulfilled their recovery obligations under the Food Security Pack Programme, saying their commitment had made the investment possible.

She urged the Community Welfare Assistance Committees to manage and maintain the equipment responsibly, emphasizing that transparency and accountability are essential to ensuring the assets continue benefiting communities in Senanga District for years to come.
