The Ministry of Agriculture says 675,459 farmers had redeemed their farming inputs under the 2026/2027 Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) as of October 23, 2026, representing 65.93 percent of the targeted 1,024,434 beneficiaries.
In a press statement issued on October 24, Ministry Principal Public Relations Officer Balewa Zyuulu said the programme was progressing smoothly, with input redemption significantly ahead of the pace recorded during the same period last year.
The Ministry has urged eligible farmers who have not yet redeemed their inputs to visit accredited agro-dealers and complete the process in good time to prepare for the farming season.
Farmers have also been encouraged to follow official weather forecasts and seasonal advisories, while seeking guidance from agricultural extension officers on suitable crop varieties and climate-smart farming practices.
The Ministry says this guidance is particularly important as farmers prepare for the 2026/2027 season amid the potential effects of El Niño, which could influence rainfall patterns and increase the risk of dry spells in some areas.
Agro-dealers have been urged to maintain adequate stocks of farming inputs to meet demand and ensure timely redemption across the country.
The Ministry says timely access to farming inputs, combined with sound agricultural practices, is essential to achieving the objectives of the Grow Zambia Agenda, which seeks to increase agricultural production and productivity, strengthen national food security, expand agricultural exports and improve farmers’ livelihoods.
Farmers have also been reminded to safeguard their e-voucher redemption codes, avoid sharing them with unauthorised persons and obtain their inputs only from accredited agro-dealers.
The Ministry says it will continue monitoring the programme and providing agricultural guidance to support farmers ahead of the 2026/2027 farming season.
