Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance member Mary Bwalya, popularly known as Mama Chikamoneka, has said Zambia needs a President who resides at State House rather than at a personal residence.
Speaking at a Tonse Alliance campaign rally in Luapula Province yesterday, Ms. Bwalya asked supporters whether they preferred a President who lived at State House or one who lived at a private home. The question drew loud cheers from the crowd.
She then invited Brian Mundubile, the alliance's presidential candidate, to publicly commit to residing at State House if elected.
In the presence of supporters, Mr. Mundubile responded in the affirmative, prompting another round of applause.
She urged voters to support the Mundubile–Makebi Zulu ticket, saying the alliance would provide the leadership Zambia needs.
Her remarks come as political campaigns intensify ahead of the 13 August General Election, with political parties increasingly drawing contrasts over leadership styles, governance and national priorities.
