Very Soon You'll Be Flying from Mansa to London - HH Tells Residents

President Hakainde Hichilema has announced a series of infrastructure and economic development projects aimed at transforming Mansa into a regional export hub.

Addressing residents during a rally in Luapula Province yesterday, President Hichilema said the government plans to upgrade Mansa Airport to accommodate international cargo operations.

He said the improved airport would enable agricultural produce and other goods to be exported directly from Mansa without first passing through Lusaka.

According to Mr. Hichilema, the government envisions the airport supporting exports of avocados, sugar and processed minerals, creating new market opportunities for producers in the province.

He said increasing exports would stimulate economic activity and improve household incomes.

"Our goal is to increase cash flow here in Mansa so that people have more money in their pockets," he said.

The President also announced plans to establish a national university in Mansa and reaffirmed his government's commitment to rehabilitating roads to improve connectivity and support economic growth.

In addition, he said the government is working to make it easier for farmers to export beef, describing agriculture as a key driver of Zambia's economy.

The announcements form part of the government's broader strategy to expand infrastructure, promote value addition and increase exports from Zambia's provinces.
